1940s Silk Satin Overcoat

An exquisite pale straw-yellow silk satin interior gown dating to the late 1940s–early 1950s. Crafted in luminous silk satin, it features delicate floral embroidery inspired by Japanese design traditions.

Cut in a fluid, wrap-style silhouette, the gown crosses at the front and is finished with silk-covered bell closures, coordinating trims, and fine machine embroidery along the collar, cuffs, lapels, and slanted pockets. A matching belt allows it to be tied at the front.

Beautifully preserved with only minimal, near-imperceptible signs of age, the silk remains clean, stable, and rich in color.
